ACW_TN98 Ageing Process
The principle of design-driven ageing is a cornerstone that runs through the lineage of the A-COLD-WALL* and Nike partnership. Parallel to the elimination of protective coating layers, removed to accelerate the discolouration of ACW*'s cult rendition of the Vomero in 2018, the ACW_TN98 is developed to evolve through wear, with the two-tone leather upper gradually shifting hue over time.
A-COLD-WALL* & Nike TN98
A-COLD-WALL* & Nike continue their creative collaboration with the release of the ACW_NIKE TN98, a refined silhouette expanding on both the cultural significance and radical innovation of the original 1998 Nike Air Max Plus TN.
Timeworn Patina
Documentation of wear examines the evolution of the shoe. The process loans character and the shoe reveals itself, the patina returning focus to nuanced construction and detail of the exoskeleton. Tonal full-grain leather exposed through the coating's degradation, experiences etched to the surface through each crease and mark.
A Radical Exploration of Colour: A-COLD-WALL* & Nike Vomero Zoom +5 Revisited
In 2019, the A-COLD-WALL* & Nike Vomero Zoom +5 returned in two unconventional colourways. Utilising specialist European dye facilities, the A-COLD-WALL* Industrial Design Team remake the Vomero in Solarised and Redox. Each shoe fully submerged in custom colour dye vats, no two pieces are alike, colours raw and intense thanks to this hand-crafted process.
